Teamwork

Nursing always comes with responsibility, accountability, and lots of sacrifices.

Being a nurse is not an easy job. We deal with people’s lives as well as risking our own health.

From the moment you enter this profession, you already know all the responsibilities that come with it. You need to have patience, determination, passion and respect to your co-workers.

In order to give quality care to patients, we ourselves need to work in harmony with our colleagues, no matter what race, nationality, or country they came from.

Being a foreigner in another country is sometimes hard because some people think we are stealing their jobs from them. No, it’s not true! The reason is, some countries have a shortage in workers that is why they would hire people from other countries. (I think they won’t do that if they have enough personnel.)
We ourselves, also, sacrificed a lot by living miles away from our family even if it means we are giving them a much better life.

I am privileged to be able to work abroad because I am learning new things that add up to my knowledge and skills.

I just want to say that if you are in the medical profession, you should always put in mind that your job is not based on race or nationality, it’s all about how you give excellent care and service to the people, even if they are not your countrymen.

I want to tell my colleagues that all of us should help each other as a team. We are not perfect. There are things you know that I don’t, and vice versa. We should be open in sharing insights about our work. We should enjoy working with one another, learning new things together. This way, we can achieve our goal of quality service to every patient, as well as attaining camaraderie. πŸ™‚

  1. Thank you for writing about teamwork. I’m not a nurse, but I work in a similar field, so I also recognize the importance of teamwork. People take it for advantage that things will just work out, but sometimes, leaning on each other is part of our greatest strength.
